Little recap

"On Friday, I had a Friday-feeling. Funny that. As far away as possible from the last day off, and as close as possible to the next - so you kind of treat it like a day off, here. During class I wrote a sentence from the MahaBharata on the board. It read "Trees with fruit and flowers grew by a clear river lined with soft grass that bent in the summer wind". Except for 'lined' and 'bent' they are all words they should know - so they were to copy the sentence and draw one big picture. After six consecutive days I've got favourites. Of course - who wouldn't? There's one pud-ke, tiny girl, Angu, must be about 4, had a bump and a scratch on her forehead and matching dirty face and hands the first time she blew into my classroom. A delicate sample of poor Nepali kindred anno 2008. Short, sweet and with a naughty smile if you're lucky enough to observe her in the right setting. Some other kid was playing with a pair of goat's horns after class so I put my fingers to my forehead and pretended to chase them like a bull. Angu copied that and I ended up having to fend her off my leg for about five minutes. That kind of thing."
A few days later I got her to stand on top of a table in the middle of the room, while no one had any idea why, and pretended that she had won a contest. I gave her a boiled sweet and everyone clapped for her... Obviously you had to have been there, but the look on that girl's face... worth 1000 smiles.
"Also found out why my legs are itching. At first I thought... crusty socks. Nope. Then maybe mosquito's... maybe, but not the same. So no. Then they got worse, especially in the morning... Ahh... checked the bed - saw some bugs and tried to squash them, but I couldn't because they kept leaping away. Joy to the world - fleas!"

Hey Timothy,
See ya, gr. Skatties -

Eric:
